ACME Markets, Inc. is a supermarket chain, a subsidiary to Albertsons present in the Northeast of the United States – in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Headquartered in East Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania, the company currently operates stores at more than 160 locations and employs over 17,000 people.
The company was founded in 1891 in Philadelphia by Samuel Robinson and Robert Crawford, two Irish immigrants. It was acquired by Albertsons in 1999.
ACME is dedicated to providing its customers with affordable groceries and everyday products of high quality. Apart from selling products of well-established international brands, it has its own private brands, such as Signature Select, Value Corner, Lucerne Dairy Farms, Lancaster Brand Meats.
